Research direction:

Understand gammaherpesvirus pathogenesis (EBV and MHV68) and associated lymphomagenesis. Focusing on 1) virus-host interaction; 2) immune control of virus infection and lymphomagenesis.

Research progress:

1.Define the role of CD95-mediated signaling in gammaherpesvirus-associated lymphomagenesis. CD95-mediated apoptotic signaling is involved in T cell immune control of gammaherpesvirus-associated lymphoma growth, whereas CD95-mediated nonapoptotic signaling regulates gammaherpesvirus latency to evade host immune surveillance.

2.Understand the role of IL16 in gammaherpesviral pathogenesis and indentify the function of one unknown gene RIK in viral infection and host immune response.
