Name: Lei PAN
Unit Name: Unit of Intestinal Microenvironment and Health
Education(CV):

Lei Pan graduated from Nankai University in 2004. Then he was elected into a CAS joint Ph.D. training program and finished his doctoral training in Stowers Institute for Medical Research, Kansas City, majoring in genetics and cell biology. In 2010, he was recruited as an associate investigator in IBP, CAS immediately after graduation and promoted to full professor in 2014. Since 2018, Dr. Pan has joined institut Pasteur of Shanghai.

Research Topic:

In combination with powerful genetic manipulation in Drosophila and validation of conservative mechanisms in mouse or human samples, Dr. Lei Pan has in recent years focused on the contribution of intestinal microbes to the homeostatic regulation of intestinal innate immune microenvironment, mainly including two aims: 1) the functions of intestinal microbiota on the spatiotemporal regulation of immunometabolism, especially during innate immune interorgan communication along “gut-liver” and “gut-brain” axes. 2) the functions of intestinal microbiota on the development and maturation of intestinal epithelial barrier, especially on the transformation and regulation in self-renewal and differentiation of intestinal epithelia stem cells.
